Water buffalo are a hoot. They remind me of the herd of cows I watch on Jefferson Highway- they spend most of their day grazing, and they look up at you like they are saying, “What? I’m still hungry!”
When we were in Tarangire, we could open the door to our tent in the morning and see the animals coming down to the watering hole- Zebras, wildabeasts, and of course, Water Buffalo. This piece of oak had the perfect grain for this memory of a bull grazing, ankle deep, in the lake.
