Earlier this spring my friend went on a trip through France. As I lived vicariously through the photos she posted, I was reminded of the trip we took a few years ago and it inspired a little painting diversion this summer.I decided to have a little fun with Monet's waterlilies, by first doing watercolor sketches of his paintings. Then I put his paintings away and just looked at my sketches. 

This painting was inspired by one of the waterlily paintings that really focused on the reflection of the clouds.
