I decided to have a little fun with Monet's waterlilies, by first doing watercolor sketches of his paintings. Then I put his paintings away and just looked at my sketches. 

This sliver of Giverny was taken from one of Monet's paintings where peach tones of sunset and purple tones of shadows made for a very different palette than one is used to seeing in the waterlily paintings. I really love purple and love the different tones in the water reflection.
